چکیده

In this article we outline the structure of a general relativistic astrometric model which has been developed to deduce the position and proper motion of stars from 1-microarcsecond optical observations made by an astrometric satellite orbiting around the Sun. The basic assumption of our model is that the Solar System is the only source of gravity, hence we show how we modeled the satellite observations in a many-body perturbative approach limiting ourselves to the order of accuracy of (v/c). The microarcsecond observing scenario outlined is that for the GAIA astrometric mission.

Sub-Microarcsecond Astrometry and New Horizons in Relativistic Gravitational Physics

Attaining the limit of sub-microarcsecond optical resolution will completely revolutionize fundamental astrometry by merging it with relativistic gravitational physics. Beyond the sub-microarcsecond threshold, one will meet in the sky a new population of physical phenomena caused by primordial gravitational waves from the early universe and/or di erent localized astronomical sources, space-time...

Astrometry and Relativity

— General relativistic effects in astrophyiscal systems have been detected thanks to accurate astrometric measurements. We outline some keystones of astrometry such as stellar aberration (argument development during the years 1727-1872); Mercury’s perihelion precession (1845-1916); solar disk oblateness (19662001); relativistic light deflection (1916-1919); lunar geodetic precession (1916-1988)...

Relativistic stellar aberration for the Space Interferometry Mission

This paper analyses the relativistic stellar aberration requirements for the Space Interferometry Mission (SIM). We address the issue of general relativistic deflection of light by the massive self-gravitating bodies. Specifically, we present estimates for corresponding deflection angles due to the monopole components of the gravitational fields of a large number of celestial bodies in the sola...

Relativistic Reference Frames for Astrometry and Navigation in the Solar System

Astrophysical space missions deliver invaluable information about our universe, stellar dynamics of our galaxy, and motion of celestial bodies in the solar system. Astrometric space missions SIM and Gaia will determine distances to stars and cosmological objects as well as their physical characteristics and positions on the celestial sphere with microarcsecond precision. These and other space m...

Variational Calculations for the Relativistic Interacting Fermion System at Finite Temperature: Application to Liquid 3He

In this paper, at first we have formulated the lowest order constrained variational method for the relativistic case of an interacting fermion system at finite temperature. Then we have used this formalism to calculate some thermodynamic properties of liquid in the relativistic regime. The results show that the difference between total energies of relativistic and non-relativistic cases of liqu...
